Overview

IELTS is a widely recognised English language test, essential for education, immigration, and professional certification in English-speaking countries. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English, and was established in 1989. IELTS is one of the major English-language tests in the world. There are two modules and an additional test.

  • Assesses Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills in academic and general training versions.
  • Administered in a paper-based or computer-delivered format, providing flexibility for test-takers.
  • The IELTS is accepted by a vast network of organizations globally, reflecting its reputation for reliability and accuracy in language assessment.

Understanding the IELTS Testing System

IELTS categorises its exam into two types: Academic, for higher education aspirants, and General Training, for work or migration. Each type includes Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking sections, conducted in a controlled environment. While the Speaking test is a face-to-face interview, other sections are available in paper-based or computer-delivered formats
